I'm 52. Born in Kansas and grew up moving around a lot. Married Chrissie in 1999. Two sons, Joel and Dillon.

I freelanced from 1995 to 2013 doing design, web, and tech work. Took a desktop support job at Madera County in 2013 and moved up from there. I've been running the Client Services Division since 2020.

I have ADHD. It's part of why I think in systems and part of why I write everything down.

What I'm drawn to

Stories in data. Behavior patterns. The thing a number is actually telling you about a system or a person. It's threaded through the design work, the IT work, and most of what I've built in the lab — J-Score, PDLeR, the smaller dashboards. If there's a narrative in a dataset, I want to find it.

On AI

I use Claude every day for writing, research, and code. This site was built with Claude. I wrote the text. Claude wrote the HTML and CSS.

Education

Business coursework at Grand Canyon University while working. I didn't finish the degree. A+ certified, and I hold a CCISDA / CSAC Technology Credential in Public Sector IT Leadership.

How this site works

Static HTML and CSS hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The domain runs on Cloudflare. A small Worker handles short links under /o.
